Yes you Welsh man mountain

His head may now be upside down, but what a proper West Ham hero this man really is, season after season.

Down the pecking order but steps in and mans up. Blocks everything again today. Hope he keeps his place in the team on these performances.

Throws himself at everything. In the modern world of pampered footballers, he's a rare breed.

A really negative influence on the side imo. Can only operate as a last-ditch stopper when playing a siege mentality defensive formation. Him throwing himself in front of the ball in the area is completely overrated as a strength - if the team were any good at all you wouldn't need or want that sort of player in it.

And of course his handball would normally have cost us.

His 8 passes in 90 minutes might well be a season low for us. 4 of them were inaccurate too.

But, the team WEREN'T very good today, so he needed to throw himself in front of the ball.

I'm glad he was playing for us today, although I'm not glad he had to throw himself around as much as he did.

This team is struggling to retain shape, form and direction without our most creative players.

Collins has been instrumental in ensuring that our limited recent performances have been draws not losses.

It's as simple as that. Terrific guts and attitude.

But if the team played a higher line and maybe pressured the opposition a bit, we might be on the front foot making them worry about us, rather than blocking in our area. But of course you can't play a higher line with Collins, cos that's where he makes the mistakes and can't cope with anyone running at him.

Imo Collins helps us play shit by being so immobile and because of his horrendous distribution from the back, then when he blocks shots we praise him for doing so well in the shit performance he helps to create. That's why I think he's a negative influence.

Re: Yes you Welsh man mountain
I hate the way goalkeepers always stay in their line, hurling themselves in the way of opposition shots. If they would only push up outside their box, we could more effectively 'keep goal' by attacking and keeping opposing teams occupied defending our positive play. Players like Adrian just bring our game down. We end up commending him for his 'saved' that his terrible tactics make necessary.

Good effort, except that there IS a trend towards keepers pushing up, the sweeper keeper etc. For exactly the same reasons - if you can play further up the pitch you can be more compact as a team, put more pressure on the opposition and keep the ball further from your own goal. It's really the same principle that I'm criticising Collins for - the deeper you sit, the more you invite pressure, the more stretched the team is, the less likely you are to control the game. Which leads indirectly to our horrendous possession and passing stats today, for example.

Centre backs both great today. Dont agree that our full backs deserve much credit, Swansea were fucking all over us down the flanks.

When people accuse me of fishing it's because they have no reasonable counter-argument to the point I'm making. Which usually means I'm right.

Your points are usually so far off the mark that there is no logical answer to such rank stupidity. I dont often bother reading them now. I put you in the same bracket as Texas Iron and other such amoebas.

Have a shit Christmas you dull cunt!
